Description
Taheebo (Lapacho) herbal tea
Also known as Pau d’Arco or Taheebo.
Herbal tea made from the inner bark of pau d’arco tree, which is used in herbal medicine of the indigenous peoples of South and Central America.
The inner bark of pau d’Arco tree contains compounds such as lapachol, quercetin and flavonoids, which are believed to have anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. As a result, lapacho (taheebo) tea is often used to support the immune system, aid in detoxification, and alleviate a variety of health problems. Traditionally, this tea is used to treat infections, inflammation and digestive problems. It is valued for promoting general well-being and vitality.
To prepare lapacho tea, the inner bark is dried and then infused in hot water to extract its beneficial compounds. The resulting tea has a mild, earthy taste with subtle woody notes, as well as a slight hint of vanilla.
Lapacho (Taheebo) tea does not contain caffeine, and like chamomile and lemon balm, it is great for the evening.
