Description
Porcelain cup (bamboo) “Pagoda” cup
Porcelain is one of the most famous and valued materials for making teapots and teacups. It doesn’t retain aromas from previous teas and doesn’t affect the change of mild notes of teas such as white and green.
• CARE AND USE •
When it comes to porcelain (for better maintenance and longer duration of cups, teapots and other vessels) it is important that the temperature does not change suddenly from cold to hot. It is preferable to preheat the cup with warm water, and only then pour the hot tea. Due to the sudden change in temperature, porcelain cups can be damaged and may crack.
How to warm the cups?
It is recommended to slowly heat the porcelain cups with warm water, like some kind of rinsing, i.e. “cleaning” the cup.
Why porcelain?
It is not porous and adds to the pleasure of drinking tea with its refined appearance.
The non-porous nature made it ideal for tea. Porcelain is resistant to staining, and does not change the taste of the tea itself. Which can happen with other cups, made of more porous materials. Earthy and metallic notes can be mixed into the taste of the tea itself. This affects and changes the taste, especially with white and green teas.
Also, it can withstand high temperatures, unless it is a temperature shock from cold to hot.
It exudes elegance, purity and peace, making it perfect for tea drinking culture.
