Description
Glass teapot “Lale”
Glass teaware seems like a thing of the modern age. But on the contrary, glass teaware is part of the ancient history of tea.
In China, glass teapots, cups and other equipment were produced a long time ago, most likely during the reign of the Tang Dynasty. At that time, the production of tea equipment was much smaller and everything was produced in small batches. Back then, glassware for preparing and drinking tea was a kind of work of art and served for artistic enjoyment.
Teapots and cups made of glass offer a design that is considered one of the most refined, modern and elegant. When the leaves are poured over with hot water, the glass makes it possible to observe the change in color of the liquid. Little by little, the tea colors the liquid in shades characteristic of the type of tea being prepared. In the case of black teas, these are dark shades with a reddish glow. While in the case of green teas, they are greenish-yellowish in color. Mixtures of fruit and hibiscus give shades that can vary from rosy red to red purple. While oolong teas are golden yellow in color. A person who has been preparing tea for some time will be able to recognize by the color when the tea has reached the perfect point.
