Fruit tea
A blend of hibiscus, rosehip peel, apple pieces, green tea leaves, sunflower and rose petals, and oriental fruit aromas.
Certainly a fruit tea that you can find in many Belgrade cafes and restaurants. This oriental blend is a favorite of many. From the name itself, to the smell and taste, this tea enchants lovers of fruit blends.
This mixture consists of:
- Hibiscus – In Sudan, hibiscus was and still is used in folk medicine to treat many conditions. Like cholesterol problems and high blood pressure. It has a sour taste similar to sour red fruit. It is popular all over the world, which is why it has various names. One of them is Bissap – the national drink of Senegal. Mint or ginger is often added to it. In Ghana it is known as “sobolo” and in Nigeria it is known as “zobo”. One of the names for hibiscus tea is also karkade (Arabic).
- Rosehip bark – very rich in vitamins and minerals. It is especially rich in vitamin C. It is a good diuretic and can have a positive effect on digestive health and stomach ailments. Rosehip is used in folk medicine since ancient times, for urinary infections, rheumatic diseases, colds, lack of vitamin C and elevated body temperature.
- Apple pieces make this mixture juicier and are a source of vitamins and minerals.
- Green tea – Although known for its stimulating effect, it does not have such an effect in this mixture because it is in a very small amount. More represents an addition, and adds to the richness of flavor in this fruity blend.
Also, petals of rose and sunflower contribute to the appearance and attractiveness of this mixture at first glance. And in combination with the aforementioned ingredients, and the aroma of oriental fruits, they contribute to the smell and taste of this mixture.
