- Hibiscus – In Sudan, hibiscus was and still is used in folk medicine to treat many conditions. Especially something like cholesterol problems and high blood pressure. It has a sour taste such as sour red fruit. It is popular all over the world, which is why it has various names. One of them is Bissap – known as the national drink of Senegal. Mint or ginger is often added to it. In Ghana it is known as “sobolo” and in Nigeria as “zobo”. One of the names for hibiscus tea is also karkade (Arabic).
- Rosehip bark – very rich in vitamins and minerals. It is especially rich in vitamin C. It is a good diuretic and can have a positive effect on digestive health and stomach ailments. Rosehip is used in folk medicine since ancient times, for problems such as urinary infections, rheumatic diseases, colds, lack of vitamin C and elevated body temperature.
- Currant – rich in vitamin C, in some cases removes the feeling of nausea because it can affect the functioning of the stomach. It can also improve intestinal peristalsis, increase perspiration and excretion of urine (excretion of salts).
Pineapple, banana and cherry – primarily contribute to the specific taste and smell of this mixture. Banana and pineapple with their sweetness, and cherry with its marzipan-like smell and sour taste.
